Although Spring Break is usually tied to college trips, it is actually one of the best times for all people to travel. Yosemite
Filled with sequoia trees, waterfalls and unique rock formations, California's Yosemite National Park wows visitors of all ages. Looking for a hike with little ones? Consider trekking the Lower Yosemite Fall Trail. Like to explore by car? Head up to the Glacier Point lookout for views of Yosemite Falls, Half Dome and Yosemite Valley. Like a slower paced day? Head over to the Happy Isles Art and Nature Center for Yosemite-themed crafts and activities. Whatever you chose to do, Yosemite is sure to keep your eyes open and your heart thankful.
Bahamas
Dreaming of white sand and a cold drink in your hand? Look no further. The Bahamas is known to be all about relaxing and reconnecting with your family. The Atlantis Marine Habitat is good spot to allow your kids to spot rays and if you want to swim with the dolphins, head over to the Blue Lagoon Island. If you are looking for that cold drink consider going and sampling rum at John Watling's Distillery. Spring is a popular time for travelers of all ages to visit these sunny islands and the Bahamas have different resorts to meet your needs.
Disney World - Orlando, Florida
Because where else can you and the kids ride the Hogwarts Express, hug Mickey and spot alligators within one vacation? Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect destination for families offering PLENTY to do. Many hotels offer suite-style accommodations and activities. Keep in mind, though, that spring's weather means parks tend to be crowded and lodging options are often on the pricier side. I recommend getting with a travel agent who specializes in ALL THINGS Disney World.
Washington DC: Our Nations Capital
Looking for outdoor activities for the whole family? Check out the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Late March or early April. The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum are great educational exhibits for older children. For smaller children, make sure to check out the zoo! With many free activities, Washington DC is a great place for all ages.
Myrtle Beach
This is on the list for my personal family! I mean, how fun does this place look? Plus, it is located in South Carolina?! Yes please! Let your kid’s attention be captured by the animal exhibits at Ripley's Aquarium of Myrtle Beach and Alligator Adventure. Or enjoy a day at Family Kingdom Amusement Park! Myrtle Beach offers 60 miles of sand and multiple water sport options to enjoy when you aren’t simply building sandcastles!
Grand Canyon
With a plethora of adventure activities and breathtaking landscapes makes this Arizona national park an easy sell to families. Wanting to make it an extra memorable vacation? You MUST check out the rafting excursion down the Colorado River, spend a couple hours hiking down the Rim Trails or travel down the Bright Angel Trail by Mule. Make time to enjoy some of the park’s educational Junior Ranger programs. And whatever you do, don’t forget your camera!
San Diego
San Diego was rated as the top spot to visit. It comes as no surprise with their beaches, museums and a SeaWorld theme park. The spring makes it a great time for whale watching and the temperatures sit comfortably in the 60’s with sunny skies. Balboa Park is somewhere to enjoy outside for a picnic and make sure to not forget a visit to the world-famous San Diego Zoo and its affiliated safari park in nearby Escondido.
