TURKEY Crafts

With Thanksgiving a week away and kids getting out of school this week for break, we at AWay Home Loans wanted to share some fun, yet simple, TURKEY crafts that will allow you to be present with your kids during this time. As parents ourselves, we know that it's so easy to get caught up in the hustle, the go go go and the never-ending to-do list, but this season we want to challenge you to carve out a little time in your week to just focus on them. Whatever that may look like to you and your family. After all, aren’t our kids one of the main things, we are THANKFUL for? And we all know… they don’t stay little for long.

1.    Apple Turkey

Need a way to get your kid to eat an apple? Tired of fighting them on all the bags of chips? This cute little easy craft can not only be fun to make but be used as a form of bribery. “You can have the jelly beans once you finish the apple”- You’re Welcome.

2.    Pinecone Turkey

In our home, we love anything with pinecones. The reason being is not only is this a craft that will keep your kids busy for some time but it allows you to get outside with them to find the actual pinecone. I have had some of the best talks with my boys when we are searching for pinecones to complete our crafts. It opens a door for communication. Enjoy!

3.    Coffee Filter Turkey

Because what parent does not drink coffee?! Am I right?! Unless you are supermom of course and then please share your ways! These are simple enough for young kids to make and you more than likely have everything you need on hand!

4.    Feather Letter Turkey

Paper plates are God’s gift to all parents. If you don’t use them, you should. It saves TONS of time doing dishes! Grab a plate or 2 and some crayons. You can use construction paper or even felt for the feathers. This allows your littles to work on their letters while doing something fun! WIN-WIN.

5.    Turkey Wreath

I LOVE how you can make these unique. Any colors go and you can always find bags of feathers at the Dollar store or on craft isles at places like Target or Walmart. This is a great way to work on colors with your kids or if they are older to let them make a masterpiece.

6.    Pumpkin Turkey

Because we all know we spent way too much money on pumpkins and Christmas (if not already up) goes up next week. This is a fun way to use pumpkins without carving. If you are feeling festive, go ahead and make an entire family out of those “needing to be used” pumpkins.

7.    Thankful Tree

7. Thankful Tree - Thanksgiving Crafts

There is nothing more important than taking the time to teach our children to be thankful. I love doing this tree every year because it allows me to see inside the hearts of my boys. It’s simple; hunt for branches and hang leaves with words on them of what everyone is thankful for. (Or if you're anything like me, head to the dollar section at Target and buy a pre-made one… it has the same meaning).

Wherever you go this holiday season and whomever you chose to spend it with, our hope is that you remember there is ALWAYS something to be THANKFUL for. We wish you all a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Your Team at AWay Home Loans.
