Recipes

Christmas time in the kitchen is one of our favorite things. There is something special about all standing around making some of your favorite foods drinking a good glass of wine with Christmas music on in the background. The smells that linger throughout your home create lasting memories for everyone around.

We know that 2020 may look a little different for you this year and having a “house full” of guests may not be something you are comfortable with but that doesn’t mean you can’t still create those moments.

We hope this list of some of our favorite recipes will bring a little joy to you and yours this Holiday Season. Enjoy!

1.    Cranberry Pound Cake

Um… can we please talk about how beautiful this is?! I love pound cake because it is something most people enjoy. It's light enough without too much sweetness but still allows you to indulge in all the flavors. Throw some cranberries in there and you are sure to please your guests.

2.    Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Homemade chocolate chip cookies are a staple in our house. The way it makes your home smell is honestly the best. Am I right?! How cute are these?! Who knew?!

3.    Candy Cane Caprese Salad

Caprese Salads are such a good way to start a meal. It is a simple 4-ingredient “salad” that is super easy to put together and is so fresh. I love how they made the candy cane out of it! Fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and some Balsamic glaze?! WIN.

4.    Holiday Sugar Cookie Bars

Because my 3-year-old literally pointed at these and said, “I want to try those, Momma”. You’re welcome.

5.    Gingerbread Cupcakes

I thought these were so pretty. Place them out on a white serving platter, Yes ma’am. I feel like gingerbread men are a must-have at Christmas. It reminds me of “old times” and being a kid. These look hard but are easier than you think!

6.    Santa Crunch Popcorn

Kids and adults alike love this stuff. It's easy to make and looks so cute set-out. Whether doing a movie night indoors or having friends over, this is something that takes little time and makes you feel super festive!

7.    Grinch Kabobs

If there is one thing I have learned as a mom, it's that KIDS ARE PICKY! (or at least mine are) BUT I have also learned if I “name” their food something fun they eat it. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Grinch Kabobs do just that. Strawberries, bananas, and green grapes with an itty-bitty marshmallow up top? This is sure to leave you feeling like super mom. (At least till the next meltdown.)

8.    Christmas Charcuterie Tree

This is on point. Everything about it. Serve the crackers on the side with a pepper jelly. No more words needed.

9.    Cranberry Brie Stars

Brie and Cranberry in a puffy pastry is to die for. You pair it with red wine and serve some light water crackers on the side. It's beautiful and it's tasty. Trust me on this one.

10.    Elf Hats

So. Stinking. Cute. ……THE END.

11.    Peppermint Oreo Milkshake

This is one of those things that you probably will eat once and continue to make throughout the year. Sure, the peppermints mixed with Oreos scream Christmas, but these 2 flavors paired together are a MUST. Go get mini mason jars, make a huge batch for your friends, pour in the jars, top with crushed peppermint, and add a little straw. So fun, right?

12.    Cranberry Jalapeno Dip

Ok. I have personally made this multiple times and every single time everyone says it is the BEST thing there. Sure, cutting the cranberries may take more time than you had planned but I can promise you this will not disappoint. Not going anywhere for Christmas? No problem. Make it for yourself.

13.    Christmas Crack

No Words.

14.    Christmas Tree Waffles

These are a tradition in our home I make every Christmas Eve Morning and my boys love them. Make the waffles as normal but with added green food coloring and add in little M&M candies to them, place like a tree, and you are done.

15.    Cranberry Bliss Bars

I love any type of food that looks pretty, like these. The rich colors with drizzled chocolate on top. Beautiful right? I personally would set them out on a gold tray! Add a pop of fresh pine around the edges and it's like Christmas on a plate.

We at AWay Home Loans hope you find joy in the little things this Holiday Season and that however you choose to spend your Christmas that you take a minute to enjoy all the things it has to offer.
